Our investment programme is transforming Britain’s railway. The size and scale of our engineering projects is enormous, with nearly £2.5 billion being invested in enhancements to the network in the next two years. We are reducing journey times between major cities, opening up new routes for passengers and freight and adding capacity to run more services. Other projects are aimed at making the railway safer and more accessible for disabled passengers.
